Why Physics

“I grew up with a love of science. Both of my parents are scientists so I was exposed to science from an early age. Throughout middle school and high school, I participated in Science Olympiad and developed a strong love for all disciplines of science.”

Professional Experience

In summer 2014, Charlie worked as a Stanford Summer College resident tutor for all subjects. In summer 2015, he worked as a Breakthrough San Francisco sixth grade science teaching fellow. The next summer, Charlie worked as a health disparities and anatomy counselor for the Stanford Medical Youth Science Program. In summer 2017, he returned to the Stanford Medical Youth Science Program as a co-director in identity, health disparities and anatomy subject areas. 

During the 2017–2018 school year, Charlie worked as a City Year San Jose/Silicon Valley Americorps volunteer science and math tutor, and an SAT reading and writing instructor at Elite Prep.

Charlie will begin teaching at San Francisco International High School during the 2019–2020 school year.


Charlie sings with friends in an acapella group called Woven.
