Teachers help students navigate the world around them through education. We give them the power to uncover the aspects of the world they are interested in.”
Nicole’s Story
Teaching Discipline
Biology
Why Biology
“I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, but I struggled to figure out what subject I wanted to teach until I took a genetics class in my senior year of high school. My teacher made science learning fun and ignited a curiosity in me for the subject of biology.”
Professional Experience
During her undergraduate studies, Nicole worked as a chemistry lab learning assistant. Also, she tutored elementary and middle school students. She spent the last two months of the 2021–2022 school year working as a long-term substitute in a high school chemistry class.
Nicole will begin her first year of teaching at Canal Winchester High School during the 2022–2023 school year.
Hobbies
Nicole loves spending time with her golden retriever, Mac, almost as much as she loves cheering on Michigan State.
